The Spirits of the River package was developed by the Central NB Woodmen's Museum, Beaubears Island Historic Site, and Metepenagiag Heritage Park. Each site offers a very different experience, although the three are linked by common themes and history.

Guests on the Beaubears Island Spirits of the River Tour meet at the Beaubears Island Interpretive Centre and are taken on a boat ride back in time to the spring of 1757, where they meet Marie Jacqueline Bellefontaine, who has just endured a long, hard winter at Wilson's Point. She will tell her life story, including tales of the Deportation and the horrors she and her fellow Acadians endured during the hard winter preceeding.
