On July 4, 2010, Beaubears Island Intepretive Centre launched and christened its brand new, 26 foot, 10 passenger Voyageur Canoe - now fondly known as Sipu (see-bu - Micmaq meaning "river").

Visitors will be able to experience canoe tours around Beaubears Island, an Authentic Heritage Experience down the Miramichi River from Metepenagiag Heritage Park to Beaubears Island, or book children's birthday parties that include a canoe trip to the Island and a scavenger hunt.

Tours around the Island will go each Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9 am. The cost is $25 per person, and passengers must be at least 8 years of age. The tour around the Island includes stops at Strawberry Marsh, Wilson's Point, and Beaubears Island and will last approximately 3 hours. Reservations are required for this experience.

Other packages are subject to change based on tides, weather, and guests' preference. Reservations are required for excursions downriver and birthday party packages as well.
